Full Job Description The Belleville Recreation & Cultural Affairs Department is looking for instructors to facilitate seasonal youth art classes! Our instructors create safe and fun environments for students grades k-8, to achieve their artistic and creative potential.
They ensure that all students have an exceptional creative and community-based journey in our program.
Skills Required:
Passion for teaching Passion for creativity Passion for community and youth development Very strong customer relations skills Strong organizational skills Able to delegate effectively to assistants Resourceful A good problem-solver Works well under pressure Ideal candidate has experience as an artist, art instructor, camp counselor, teacher or teacher's assistant.
Example schedule:
Saturdays 9am-2:
30p, varies based on seasonal programing.
Example Duties Lead art and craft instruction for specific, age-appropriate activities for seasonal programs.
Organize and secure necessary supplies, materials, and equipment for seasonal program.
Lead, instruct, demonstrate, and supervise program activities as assigned.
Maintain clean, safe areas throughout program times.
Work with Program Coordinators to help resolve issues that arise.
